The Monday Viper Days Race

The 10 car field lined up for the Viper Days door-to-door race on Monday.

Ron Misjak Jr. and Bobby Archer at the head of the pack. SVS crew guys going through last minute checks.

The drivers receive their 2 minute warning to the start, as the pace car waits to lead out the field.

Junior experienced trouble from the start as the field goes past. After getting the second best lap time of the weekend, SVS experienced fuel regulator problems, combined with a damaged O2 sensor. Sadly, they were unable to finish the race.

Bob Woodhouse wasted no time getting past many, to quickly claim second position behind Bobby Archer. Here he passes Frank Parise for second spot.

Woodhouse charges  hard on the heels of Archer.

As I turned my camera, Archer's motor went down, and Woodhouse skidded violently trying to avoid Archer. Bob Woodhouse demonstrated some quick reactions, and passed Archer on the inside and avoided a major crash.

Frank Parise and Dave Snelten followed closely behind. You can see Woodhouses tire marks in this photo.

As Frank Barba came around the same corner in 5th, it looked like he hit some oil, but he soon pulled over for some unknown reason, ending his race. He was later out that afternoon following the race.

As Woodhouse established a healthy lead, the real race was between Parise and Snelten for 2nd spot. Snelten was all over Frank for lap after lap. Parise appeared to have more horsepower in the straights, but Snelten would quickly catch him in the corners. It was a great race, with Parise taking second and Snelten taking third. Only 4 cars finished the race!

Bob Woodhouse ran a great race taking first place.
