Early stages of landscaping beginning to show. Note the grass and original starting line. The track edges were fogged Black into the wood inlays about 1/4" to give the track the illusion of more width. Guard rails in straight sections are eventually placed 1/4" from the track edge to give outside cars room to move around. Guard rail posts were trimmed and glued into 1/8" holes matched in the wood. There are NO guard rails on the outside of most every turn, except elevated areas.
