Kevin Allen in the Hennessey Venom 650 behind Muzzy.  John Hennessey told me this was the first door-to-door event for the 650 GTS.  He was very pleased with it's performance.  SKip Thomas and Albert Box (Fat Albert) line up behind Allen.

Dave Snelten in his immaculate #22 GTS and the rest of the pack finish the field.

The trick BMW Pace Car leads the field out for the Sunday race.  Kevin Allen immediately jumped into first after passing Junior in the SVSi Pro RT/10, and Muzzy in the #56 Red GTS.

The rest of the pack follows into turn 1.  Bob Woodhouse wasted no time gaining a better position.  On the right is Frank Parise (the Mad Italian)  in the #45 Dessert Venom Orange GTS, and Larry Hampton in the Black and Yellow RT/10.

Woodhouse worked his way up to first quickly, and held the lead through the rest of the race.  Junior set a cruise pace, maintaining 4th place for the first 10 laps or so, knowing the heat of the day would be a test of endurance for most.  On the right; Another good battle developed between Dave Snelten and Skip Thomas as they drag race down the main straight.

Sneltens Viper belches some flames during a shift.

As Woodhouse ran away with the lead, the hot competition was between Allen and Muzzy.

The SVSi boys observe the race from an elevated view.

Junior maintained a steady, conservative position in 4th, just hanging back in anticipation for his move to the front.
